About this site...

Customer Service in the United States has officially reached an all-time low.  Nobody cares anymore.  Employees are not properly trained and cannot deal with even the simplest of requests. Business process are designed to suit the business, not the customer. One department has no idea what any other department does, and furthermore, they could care less. It's not their problem, they just work there, and besides...they get off in 15 minutes. When problems occur, we are informed that we did not follow their procedure, We have done something wrong.  We are are to blame?  The thing that business leaders and HR people don't understand is that you can't train give-a-damm, you have to hire it.  You either have it or you don't.  Simple.  No amount of training or education can instill values or work ethic.

I have officially had it, and have decided to do something about it however small.  If it means one penny less in revenues for these companies, I will have achieved my goal.

The purpose of this website is to provide a forum and outlet for people to share their negative experiences with Don't-Give-A-Damm companies. Let us refer to them thusly.  In this way, perhaps others can avoid dealings with these companies. In some cases we must deal with these companies.  Most public utility companies are quick to exercise their dominance as a natural monopoly. To the companies who would object, please don't. You have forced our hand. We have no other recourse, there's nothing else we can do.

At this point, I am going to officially open this forum, and the topic available for discussion will be how to organize this site and what (if any) rules there should be.  There are obviously many ways to do this, one would be to simply have a company index and allow individuals to share their experiences.  Another way would be to group companies by type (public, utility, retailer, etc) and proceed similarly.  I honestly haven't given it very much thought yet, so post away.

Second of all, I suppose this should be done on a member basis, meaning you have to create an account to post and reply to other's posts.  All users of the web will be able to view posts.  Is this right?  Leave a comment below.

Thirdly, what about moderation?  Should anything be allowed to be posted? Should the posts be live, or reviewed and maybe even edited.  Although this is in part about emotion, which (at least for me) usually leads to foul language, I don't think we can be taken seriously if the messages aren't at least semi-professional.  I don't want to get too complicated or technical here.  It pisses me off when I join a site that will allow me to post only after being subscribed for a week or something similar.  I think, Dammit, I'm angry NOW, and I want to post something right away.  I dunno, leave your thoughts below.

Question for the day:  How should this site be organized and run?
Post your response by clicking the little [+] sign next to "Comments" below -----> type in your stuff -----> when done hit, "Add Comment"  For now, if you want others to be able to contact you privately, please leave your name and a way to get in touch with you like an email address, IM, Skype, whatever.  Eventually we'll all have "accounts" so we'll know a little bit more about one another.  I'll post the first one.

These instructions are for people like my Mom who, although she tries very hard, sometimes has a rough time making the web thing happen.

Well, yes, I suppose I am a little bit angry, but I've been thinking about this for awhile. Besides, there really isn't a good way to get back at these companies. They're so big and we're so small.

Max,
I do like this idea. I love the fact that you have already gotten a response. With so many "GREAT" companies with 'Great' customer service we all should be posting books of issues.
I have a major complaint with Charter Communications. I have lived at my new address for 1.5 years. I have had Charter come to my house and fix the cable at least 10 times. Guess what it is broke again today. I just don't have the strength to call them anymore.
I do not want to get the Dish or Direct TV. I just want Charter to fix my cable in my house. The phone service works fine and the internet works good also.
I am stuck in "Cable Pergatory".

Does Anyone know someone or something that can help Chester? I've been thinking that another purpose of this site is for this community to assist others in resolving problems. I think that will give it slighly more appeal that being simply a "bitch site".
